Development and service of drilling fluid

It is intended for drilling of potentially unstable, easily dispersing clay deposits, such Maikop or Vorotyschensk rock complexes.

The washing system Poly-Glay characterized by high levels of inhibition and resistance to flow of significant volumes of dispersed clay slurry, which is manifested in its ability to preserve acceptable rheological parameters. These properties are due to the proposed solution by the combined action of three powerful inhibitory components: potassium chloride, polyglycol and acrylic reagent RCC.

HISTORICAL REFERENCE

In the USSR, the drilling of unstable clay deposits or similar Maikop Vorotyschenskim traditionally conducted with the use of drilling fluids aluminate. This washing system is characterized by high glinoemkostyu, but had a very low inhibitory properties. In the early 80s, in the software has been developed UkrNIGRI Convertible washing system, which successfully combines glinoemkost and high inhibitory properties. Application of Convertible helped improve wellbore dramatically reduce time between the solution and resulted in savings of reagents and weighting. Convertible widely used in drilling Maikop in the Crimea, in the Ministry of Geology of the USSR, until the collapse of the Soviet Union, when it ceased deliveries of components - sodium aluminate and vysokookislennogo bitumen. Poly-Glay represents a new washing system with high inhibitory properties glinoemkostyu and developed on the basis of modern chemical reagents.

ADVANTAGES

  • Poly-Glay system provides the greatest resistance to the flow of the clay slurry to all types of drilling fluids, which are traditionally used in the drilling of Maikop and Vorotyschenskih clay complexes, such as those used in Ukraine today.
  • The high degree of stabilization of the wellbore by preventing dispersion, swelling and softening clay rocks.
    High lubricating and anti-seize properties (CTC system, without the use of additional lubricating additives, does not exceed 0.15-0.18), which eliminates the use of environmentally hazardous substances, such as oil.

RESTRICTIONS

  • During the drilling process is necessary to strictly control the ratio of reactants and the component composition of the flushing system. Failure to comply with this requirement the effectiveness of the system is significantly reduced.
  • The system is not compatible with the reagents - breakers having adverse effects on dispersing clay rocks.
  • When using Poly-Glay You should always use cleaning agents mud.
  • When the concentration of polyvalent ions in the wash liquid filtrate more than 0.1%, may increase fluid loss and rheological properties.

THE COMPOSITION OF THE MUD

  • AbramiX-K® - 1,88-2,5% (by dry weight);
  • Low-viscosity grade of CMC (PAC) - 0.3-0.5%;
  • potassium chloride - 7-10%;
  • polyglycol - 1.5-2%;
  • biopolymer - 0.3-0.4%;
  • Graphite - up to 1% (before running casing);
  • weighting material (barite, hematite) - depending on the desired density;
  • water - the rest.

  • Density - 1450-2300 kg / m3,
  • Relative viscosity - 80-120 sec.,
  • SNA - 60 / 90-80 / 120 DPA
  • fluid loss - 6-8 cm 3/30 min.,
  • plastic viscosity - 15-30 mPa.s;
  • CSN - 120-180 dPa;
  • pH - 9.5-10.
