Development and service of drilling fluid

The volume of process fluid penetrating into the formation to a large extent determined by the permeability of the filter cake which is formed during such penetration.

Process fluids that do not contain in its composition forming a crust ingredients - water and salt solutions, penetrate into the formation at a very high volume, and to a considerable depth. The presence of such a process fluid even small amounts of colloidal particles (which is always the case - remaining mud tubes to scale, sludge) with practically unlimited filtration, has a significant negative impact on the formation, as forms over the inside the filter cake. The destruction of such a cover is an extremely complex process, so that its size is transformed into one of the main factors determining the reduction in man-made well productivity.

Theoretically, this problem is solved by using a clay-free flushing systems containing in its composition special agents colmatant-specific particle size distribution, can quickly create a surface filter cake and do not penetrate deep into the formation. Unfortunately, in practice, it turns out differently. The main reason - the inability to optimal sizing colmatant corresponding to the actual size of the filtration channels in the formation. Widely publicized mathematical techniques, in particular Optibridge program used by MI-SWACO, ineffective under conditions where filtration characteristics capacitively deposits vary widely, both in depth and in the strike.

We have proposed a partial solution to this problem, which boils down to sharing colmatant rigid and elastic type. Effectiveness of such a combined colmatant much less dependent on proper selection of the particle size and suitable pore size in the reservoir. At the same time, in practice, partial penetration of the liquid into the formation can still occur, due to the action of a number of variables. Among them: the loss of the means to colmatant cleaning, change in the balance between rigid and elastic particles, changing the content of cuttings and weighting material, decrease the rheological properties of the solution under the influence of temperature, etc. Compensate for the manifestation of these factors is possible by applying a new organic-mineral colmatant Alevron.

Research has shown that supplementation Alevron allow completely eliminate the penetration of fluid into the formation. It does not matter, so that this penetration occurs - this discrepancy colmatant pore size, its lack or thermal effects.

A special feature is the side colmatant Alevron increase in the rheological and structural and mechanical characteristics of clay-free systems, reducing their filtering. This allows for an appropriate adjustment of the formulation in the direction of reducing the concentration of starch and biopolymers.
