Increasing wells depth and drilling in formation with AHFP requires a lot of weighting materials. Bulgaria is a promising supplier of barite on the Ukrainian market.
Back in the late 90s of the last century we worked with barite, produced in Bulgaria. It was a high quality weighting material and much better Soviet barite. We drilled several deep wells and then Bulgarian barite left Ukraine. Suppliers from Turkey and Russia came to Ukrainian market.
The situation has changed in the last year. Volumes of drilling deep wells increased significantly. At the same time we had three wells with using the drilling fluid with a density of more than 2.0 g/sm3. We didn’t buy barite in Russia and supplies from Turkey were not enough.
So when we received a sample of the Bulgarian barite for laboratory testing, we saw this as a serious prospect. The analysis confirmed the high quality of the weighting agent. And we went to Bulgaria for exploring the production.
Our impressions exceeded all expectations! So, very soon, the Bulgarian barite will reappear in Ukraine.
